2015-07-14 Sendai Sightseeing, Tokiwagi High School & Farewell Party

We started just a bit later than usual since we had a long day yesterday. Takahashi-san drive us to Sendai Castle for some sightseeing before lunch. The castle grounds were as impressive as the head was oppressive. We wandered from patch of shade to patch of shade and tried to take in all the sights and sounds of the area. We cheered when we entered a souvenir shop that had air conditioning.
We visited a nearby museum (that also had air conditioning) and enjoyed learning about the history of the area. We had lunch there and headed back out into the heat.
We spent the next few hours in Tokiwagi High School. We answered questions, participated in a game and even did some homework.

After school was done, we hung around to meet the hula club. Yukari sensei did an impressive job organizing a fun ice breaker where the students shared some traditional Japanese food. We also played a game of trying to pick up the "roundest beans ever" with chopsticks. We then performed for each other and said our goodbyes.
